LACK OF ANY BETTER TERMS, I FELT THE MANNER IN WHICH THIS BOOK WAS ADVERTISED WAS VERY MISLEADING. I'M A BEGINNING WOODWORKING HOBBIEST, AND THIS BOOK IS ADVERTISED AS PROVIDING "STEP BY STEP" INSTRUCTIONS TO BUILDING BEAUTIFULL WOODEN CHESTS. WHILE THE CHESTS IN THE BOOK ARE BEAUTIFULL, THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BUILDING THEM, IN MY OPINION, ARE BY NO STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION STEP BY STEP. MAYBE IT'S MY IN-EXPERIENCE, BUT WHEN I THINK OF STEP BY STEP, IT'S; 1. CUT ALL PIECES TO LENGTH; 2. ASSEMBLE PIECE "A" TO PIECE "B" USING SUCH AND SUCH MANNER. ETC, ETC. ESSENTIALLY LEADING YOU THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROJECT PROCESS. THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS BOOK ARE SPORADIC AT BEST, WITH ONLY RUFF DIMENSIONS FOR THE FINISHED PRODUCTS. THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK DOES HAVE SOME INTERESTING F.Y.I. ABOUT CHEST HISTORY, USES, AND DEVELOPMENT. I JUST THOUGHT I WAS BUYING MEASURED DRAWINGS WITH ACCOMPANYING INSTRUCTIONS FOR BUILDING THE CHESTS. I PERSONALLY WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED.
